ABOUT
Dr. Gem Williams
Dr. Gem Williams
Owner | Founder
I am Dr. Gemariah Williams (Gem), a licensed clinical psychologist practicing in Atlanta, Georgia. I offer trauma-informed and culturally-responsive services in person and via Telehealth.
Therapeutic Style
My approach to therapy is individualized and client-focused. As your therapist, I start with getting to know you, your goals, and what you would like as a result of therapy. I value your background, identities, and past experiences. We will collaborate on identifying underlying roots to current blocks to growth and contentment. I tend to provide space to discover and explore deeper patterns in your thoughts, behaviors, and relationships. We will also work toward your abilities to handle emotional pain, cope with difficult situations, and develop healthier relationships. I also believe in the therapeutic power of relationships. During our sessions, I am committed to honoring your past and making space for your present in order for you to feel more empowered to face and create your future. In this process, my hope is to journey with you as you become your more authentic self and live a more meaningful life.
I utilize a trauma-informed and culturally responsive approach. I tend to integrate various theoretical orientations including psychodynamic, emotion-focused, acceptance and commitment, and relational orientations. In couples therapy, I utilize an emotion-focused approach to create healthier relationship patterns.

I specialize in treating individuals with complex trauma, PTSD, religious/spiritual issues, work and school stress, anxiety, depression, and chronic pain. I also have experience working through issues including intimate partner violence, relational struggles, identity development, integration of all parts of oneself, and acculturation stress.
